FUTURE
RESET
Promoting art for mental wellbeing in young people...
Future Reset is an initiative developed by Vic Health, partnering with the arts sector to improve young people’s collective health and wellbeing. The program aims to enhance mental wellbeing and social connection through art, creativity and culture. It consists of nine arts organisations working to create a collection of youth-led art projects over a period of two years, across Victoria. The program gives young people a voice to create their own artistic vision for their communities and with their communities, supporting mental wellbeing in the process.
Vic Health briefed Think HQ to develop a website to promote the Future Reset program and feature the art projects that would be developed over the course of the program. The site needed to feel youthful, creative, and “not governmenty”, whilst still housing useful educational resources around topics related to mental health. It also needed to be flexible in terms of what content the arts organisations could upload, given that at the time, no one was quite sure what these artistic young people might produce that we would need to display!
Built on Drupal 9, the website provides a flexible page construct for Vic Health and the creative organisations involved in the program. With access to a large custom component library, a content manager can not only provide stories about an art project, but can share learning resources, and host live events that audiences can attend remotely, via the website.
The site adheres to the Future Reset visual identity, but uses a subset of its visual language to maintain a bold, high energy aesthetic that aligns with what is currently appealing to a youthful audience. Oversize, bold, animated headlines, and a bright, high-contrast colour palette is combined with large images of the featured art projects, resulting in a visually exciting site that definitely does not look “governmenty”.
